Serious injuries result from accident

Wednesday, June 01, 2011By Richard Alexander
Two people were seriously injured on Tuesday when the driver lost control and veered into the path on an oncoming vehicle.

A 38 year-old woman and her 6 year old passenger suffered major injuries Tuesday afternoon after their vehicle collided with another on Camino Tassajara, according to a California Highway Patrol spokesman.

At approximately 3:15 p.m., the 38 yr-old woman was driving a gray 2002 Isuzu SUV was heading southbound on Camino Tassajara  north of the Alameda-Contra Costa county line when it slid and struck a red 2011 Toyota RAV4 driving in the northbound lane, this according to CHP officer Steve Creel.

The Isuzu's driver and 6-year-old passenger had major injuries. The woman was transported to Eden Medical Center, while the girl went to Children's Hospital in Oakland.

The 18-year-old driver of the RAV4 received minor injuries, Creel said. She was taken to San Ramon Regional Medical Center. The cause of the crash is under investigation, the CHP said.
