More molestation charges filed against YMCA employee in Mountain View

Wednesday, October 09, 2013By ALG
downloadThe Santa Clara County Prosecutors Office filed additional sexual assault charges on Tuesday against Nicolas Lhermine of Morgan Hill, a 20-year-old former YMCA child care worker bringing the number of known victims to five young girls all under the age of 7.

Lhermine was arrested in July after a six year old girl reported that he had touched her. Investigators quickly discovered additional victims and announced that they suspected Lhermine of similar acts, with two other girls ages 5 and 7. The latest accusations involve two more girls, one 7 and the other 3-and-a-half years of age.

Lhermine worked at the YMCA for four years although the known victim's are all reporting contact shortly before his arrest according to Stewart Scott of the Santa Clara County Prosecutors Office.

Scott was quoted by the Mercury News as saying "This is the kind of case where we may be hearing about more victims for years to come," said Scott. "Hopefully we got it pretty early, but you never know."

The charges against Lhermine were amended to include additional counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child in addition to the child pornography charges stemming from allegations he photographed his victims.

Morgan Hill police have gone thought all of the rosters of children that Lhermine had contact with and contact the parents of those children. The additional cases were discovered after police contacted patents.

At least some of the incidents took place at Paradise Valley Elementary School, which provides facilities for the YMCA program but is otherwise uninvolved.

Anyone with information or who believes they may know a victim can contact Morgan Hill police at 408-779-2101 or leave a tip with Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers at 408-947-STOP (7867) or with svcrimestoppers.org.
