The California Highway Patrol has closed down two lanes on the transition ramp from southbound
Interstate Highway 880 to southbound
Interstate Highway 238 in
San Leandro this morning, a
CHP officer said.
The closure which was caused by a big-rig accident, punctured the oil tank causing a spill according to Officer Peter Van Eckhardt said.
No one was reported injured in the accident but crews were on the scene cleaning up the spill. A sig alert was issued around 4 am, according to the CHP.
The truck was removed shortly after the accident but the due to the clean-up lanes didn't reopen until well into the morning commute. Motorists experienced heavy delays in the area.
