Automobile Crash Causes Gas Leak

Wednesday, March 05, 2014By ALG
gas_pipeAn apartment building had to be evacuated, because of a ruptured gas line. On Tuesday morning, an automobile hit a gas meter at a Daly City apartment complex. The gas line ruptured, and PG&E was swiftly on the scene. The 55-unit apartment building had to be evacuated for the safety of residents. According to a San Mateo County fire dispatcher, the leak was reported at 9:39 a.m. According to The San Francisco Examiner, the gas flow wasn’t stopped until 10:39 a.m.

Anytime a gas line is ruptured, there is the potential for serious and deadly consequences. Thankfully, everybody was evacuated and the situation was handled quickly. There is no word on whether or not anybody was injured in the crash that ruptured the gas line though.

After any type of car accident, you should always seek medical attention. Even if you initially feel ‘okay,’ you should see a doctor. It’s not uncommon to believe you haven’t been injured after a wreck only to find yourself in an immense amount of pain later on. You may be riding on an adrenaline rush shortly after the wreck that prevents you from feeling the pain of an injury. For your health and peace of mind, see a doctor after any wreck. Even seemingly mild crashes can leave victims with brain injuries, sprains, strains and other painful problems. Once your immediate medical needs have been addressed, contact an attorney.
